Crime Report: Known Suspect Flees from Police Outside Cleburne Cafeteria
Dead on arrival
At 7:43 am, an officer was dispatched to the 6500 block of Belmont to assist West U fire department paramedics with an unresponsive person. On arrival, it was discovered that the individual had passed overnight. The primary care physician pronounced the individual deceased at 8:04 am.
An officer was in the parking lot of Cleburne Cafeteria located at 3606 Bissonnet, where multiple burglaries of motor vehicles have occurred in the recent months. The Officer noticed a known suspect vehicle that was involved in a WUPD offense which is currently under investigation, and observed the known suspect in the vehicle as well. The Officer observed the suspect looking into other vehicles, the suspect then backed out of the parking spot, which is when the officer identified the vehicle by the specific damage. The officer observed the suspect, who he also positively identified by his facial characteristics, and then approached the vehicle which appeared to position itself to re-enter the parking lot. The officer in full patrol uniform identified himself as a police officer and asked the suspect to exit the vehicle multiple times and the male did not listen. The officer then observed the male place the car in drive, disregarding my verbal commands and exit the parking lot at a high rate of speed disregarding traffic, entering in the 5200 block of Edloe.
At 1:29 pm, officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of Emory for a report of a disturbance in progress. On arrival, it was discovered that a domestic disturbance had occurred with the male party leaving the scene prior to officers’ arrival. According to the victim, the ex boyfriend committed a simple assault against her and damaged some property in her residence.
