Crime Report: Jewelry Box Stolen from Vehicle on Villanova
Officers were dispatched to a residence located in the 4100 block of Milton in regards to a disturbance in progress. Upon the officers’ arrival it was discovered that subjects were involved in this incident. It was also determined that one subject (suspect) assaulted the other subject (victim) during a verbal altercation between the suspect and the victim. The victim refused to press charges on the suspect and refused any type of medical attention.
An officer was dispatched to 3800 University in reference to a subject wanting to turn himself in on a warrant issued out of the West University Place municipal court. The subject was taken into custody for the traffic warrant and booked into the West University jail.
Minor Accident/Failure to Stop and Give Information
At 12:31pm, officers responded to a minor accident/FSGI incident in the 2700 block of Sunset Street. It was reported that in between the times of 12:00pm on August 30, 2013, and 10:00am on August 31, 2013, an unknown vehicle struck a legally parked vehicle causing damage to the left front quarter panel.
Burglary of Motor Vehicle
At 8:21am, an officer was dispatched to a residence located in the 4200 block of Villanova for a report of a burglary of a motor vehicle. Upon arrival the officer spoke to the victim who stated that an unknown person(s) entered her vehicle and took a jewelry box from inside the vehicle without her consent. The victim advised she parked her vehicle in the 4200 block of Villanova on 08/31/2013, at 6:30am, and left the area. On 09/01/2013, at 7:30am, she was notified by a neighbor that her vehicle had been rummaged through. The victim advised that she was unsure if the vehicle was locked during the time of this incident.
