Crime Report: Driver Arrested for Pot, Warrants
Driving While License Suspended
At 9:39 am, an officer observed a vehicle traveling northbound in the 6500 block of Fairhaven without an inspection certificate attached to the front windshield. A traffic stop was conducted in the 6500 block of Fairhaven and after further investigation the driver was arrest for the offense of driving while license invalid.
An officer was dispatched to the WUPD lobby for a report of identity theft. Upon arrival the officer spoke to the complainant who stated that an unknown person used her personal information such as her name and social security number to activate a DIRECTV account on 07/15/2011. The complainant stated she became aware of this when DIRECTV’s identity theft department notified her via telephone on 03/08/2013. The complainant stated the account was discontinued by DIRECTV on 02/29/2012.
Possession of Narcotics
At 12:07 am, an officer observed a vehicle traveling, at a high rate of speed, northbound in the 6600 block of Buffalo Speedway. A traffic stop was conducted on that vehicle in the 6400 block of Buffalo Speedway. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the driver had outstanding warrants with Harris County Precinct 4 and was in possession of marijuana. The driver was arrested on those charges.
