Crime Report: Driver and Passenger Arrested for Public Intoxication after Hitting Tree on Rice

Driving while license suspended

At 9:04 am, an officer conducted at traffic stop in the 3200 block of Rice on a vehicle with expired registration. During the course of the traffic stop, it was discovered that the driver had a driver’s license that was not valid, and the vehicle did not have insurance. The driver was arrested for driving while license invalid with no valid insurance.

Fraud

At 9:40 am, an officer was dispatched to the 4000 block of Browning in regards to fraud. Upon arrival, the officer met with the complainant who stated that an unknown person(s) had repeatedly changed her email password and used her identifying information and bank account making several unauthorized online withdraws.

At 2:40pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 4000 block of Purdue for an offense that occurred in the 3900 block of Northwestern. During the course of the traffic stop, it was discovered that the driver had a driver’s license with a not eligible status, and the vehicle had no valid insurance. The driver was arrested for driving while license invalid.

Identity theft

At 8:28p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 4000 block of Coleridge in reference to a report of identity theft. The officer arrived and met with the victim who stated that an unknown suspect attempted to open a best buy credit account through HSBC bank in his name. The officer collected information and generated a report.

Public intoxication

Officers were dispatched to a major accident in the 3100 block of Rice Blvd. Officers arrived and found one vehicle on its side after striking a tree and the two occupants standing outside the vehicle. Both occupants were found to be intoxicated and neither occupant would admit to driving. Officers could not locate any witnesses that could confirm which occupant was actually driving the vehicle. Both occupants were arrested for public intoxication and booked into the West U PD jail.

Burglary of building

Officers were dispatched to a possible burglary in progress in the 2900 block of Georgetown. The resident believed that an unknown suspect made entry into their detached garage. At the time of this report no items were reported missing.
