Crime Report: Convicted Felons Arrested after West U Police Chase
At 2:14 a.m., an officer observed a person walk westbound on Jarred at the intersection of Belmont. The officer then observed a blue Honda pilot turning southbound onto Belmont from Rice. The vehicle was driven by a second person, the vehicle then parked on Belmont and turned off its lights, as the first person got into the front passenger side seat of the vehicle. The vehicle then made its way onto Buffalo Speedway and began traveling southbound at an accelerating speed of 50mph in a 30mph zone. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop at which time the vehicle accelerated faster. The vehicle came to a stop at Stella link and 610 upon striking an object. Upon further investigation it was found that the vehicle the suspect’s were driving had been reported stolen. Numerous tools used to commit burglaries were found in the vehicle. The subjects were arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and evading. The two arrested persons have a total of 12 prior arrests with the offenses including aggravated robbery, drug possession, burglary of habitation, possession of firearm, engaging in organized criminal activity, attempted capital murder and evading arrest.
At 4:07 pm, an officer was dispatched to 4004 Bellaire, the whole foods store, for a report of a theft. After speaking with the complainant, it was discovered that an unknown person(s) took her wallet and other items, without permission, from her purse which was in the manager’s office.
An officer was dispatched to the 2600 block of Talbott in reference to identity theft. The officer arrived and learned from the victim that an unknown suspect(s) opened a credit account in his name in Mansfield, Texas. The officer collected the information and generated a report.
