Crime Report: Burglars Ransack Home on Marquette

At 2:29 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3900 block of Marquette in reference to an open residence. Upon arrival, the officers observed an open front door and a smashed window of the back door. The place appeared to have ransacked and several items were missing.



At 10:54 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Bissonnet in regards to a theft. The victim advised that an air conditioning unit was stolen.


Burglary of a Vehicle 

At 3:08 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3100 block of Plumb in regard to a burglary of a motor vehicle in progress. The victim stated she witnessed a white male subject (suspect) who was wearing a red striped polo shirt and blue pants enter her vehicle without her consent. The victim stated that the suspect left the scene once she started screaming. Moments later, officers made contact with a white male subject matching the description given by the victim.  The officers then placed the subject in handcuffs in which he later admitted to reaching inside the victim’s vehicle to grab a Gatorade bottle. The subject was then placed in custody for the offense of burglary of a motor vehicle and was transported to the West University Place jail, where he was booked and processed without incident. The victim later advised that $25.00 in cash was missing from her purse.
