Crime Report: Burglars Break into West U Vehicles

Fail to ID

An officer with the WUPD department were conducting traffic (radar) in the 6500 block of Buffalo Speedway. An officer observed a vehicle traveling 38 mph in a 30 mph speed zone. An officer initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver. The driver was arrested for driving without a license and for failing to maintain financial responsibility. The driver was transported to West U jail and booked in. It was later discovered that the subject in custody was wanted out of Harris County Sheriff’s office. The subject was also charged with failing to identify fugitive from justice.

Burglary of motor vehicle

An officer was dispatched to the business establishment of crave cupcakes located at 5600 Kirby for a report of a burglary of a motor vehicle. Upon arrival the officer spoke with the complainant who stated that an unknown person(s) smashed the right rear passenger side window and took his laptop computer bag without his consent. The complainant stated that nothing of value was inside the computer bag. The complainant advised that he parked his vehicle in the parking lot at crave cupcakes on 02/07/2013, At 1025 a.m. proceeded inside the building. The complainant returned to his vehicle on 02/07/2013, at 1030 a.m. observed that the window to his vehicle was smashed. The officer was unable to locate any witnesses during the time of this investigation.

Warrant Arrest

At 11:32 am, an officer was dispatched to 8300 Mykawa, the Houston Police Department southeast jail, to pick up a subject with two outstanding warrants with The City of West U. The subject was placed in custody and transported to the West U jail for booking without incident.

Burglary of Motor Vehicle

An officer was dispatched to subway located in the 5400 block of Kirby in reference to burglary of a motor vehicle that had already occurred. Dispatched advised that the incident had just occurred approximately five to ten minutes. An officer arrived and met with the complainant. An officer obtained the required information and generated a report.
