Crime Report: Azuma Sushi and Robata Bar Burglarized Over Weekend
Credit Card/ Debit Card Abuse
At 2:20 pm, an officer was dispatched to the 3800 block of University, in reference to a report of identity theft / credit card fraud. The victim advised that an unknown person was attempting to open credit accounts through the use of his personal information without his permission. Information was gathered and a report was generated.
Driving while license suspended
At 11:21 pm, an officer observed a sedan traveling in the 2700 block of Robinhood without any rear tail lamps. A traffic stop was conducted in the 5500 block of Wakeforest and after further investigation the driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license.
Burglary of Building
At 4:46 am, officers were dispatched to the 5600 block of Kirby in reference to a burglary alarm at the Azuma Sushi and Robata Bar. Upon officers arrival it was discovered the front door was forced open with an unknown object to gain entry into the building. After further investigation, the suspect(s) were not located and had removed the computer from its original area and left it at the scene.
An officer was dispatched to WUPD in regards to telephone harassment. The officer spoke to the victim who stated that she has received multiple voicemails on her cellular phone from her deceased husband’s brother (suspect). The victim advised that the suspect used obscene language and threatened her in all the voicemails left by the suspect.
Credit Card/ Debit Card Abuse
At 5:05 pm, an officer was dispatched to the 3100 block of Plumb, in reference to a credit card fraud report that had already occurred. The victim stated that an unknown person opened up a credit card account with best buy through the use of his personal information. Information was gathered and a report was generated.
Burglary of Motor Vehicle
An officer was dispatched to a residence located in the 2900 block of Albans in regards to a burglary of motor vehicle(s). Upon arrival the officer spoke to the complainant who stated that unknown person(s) made forced entry through his driveway gate and entered both of his vehicles without his consent. The complainant stated that both vehicles were parked on his driveway, the complainant observed damage to his gate and also observed that both of his vehicles were rummaged through. The complainant advised that no items were taken during the time of this incident.
An officer was dispatched to the WUPD lobby for a report of a theft. Upon arrival the officer spoke to the complainant who stated he left his bicycle on one of the bicycle rack(s) at the West U Recreation Center (Rec Center) at 4210 Bellaire on 09/28/2012. The complainant left the Rec Center without his bicycle and returned on 09/30/2012 during this time the complainant noticed that the bicycle was missing from the rack. The complainant stated that the bicycle was unsecure during the time of this incident.
