Council Delays Resolution Opposing METRO Bus Route
The West U City Council took no action Monday on a resolution opposing the Metropolitan Transit Authority’s proposed bus route along Weslayan St.
The council will consider such a resolution at their August 11 meeting.
The METRO Transit System Reimagined plan, which is aimed at boosting ridership and mobility throughout the Houston area, includes the Proposed Route #48 Weslayan. That route would carry riders between the West Loop Transit Center, through West U and Greenway Plaza, to the Northwest Transit Center.
Many West U homeowners near the proposed bus route had asked the council to pass the resolution, so that METRO would know about their concerns about the proposed route.
There is still time for West U residents to provide comments on the proposed plan, but the deadline is Thursday, July 31. To provide feedback, go to: http://transitsystemreimagining.com/web/feedback-on-the-plan/.
