Construction On City Hall And Police Facilty To Begin In Early May
The West U City Council discussed code variances for the expansion of the city hall and police facility during their 15 min. meeting Monday night.
They approved all variance requests for the new facilities, which will start undergoing construction the first week of May.
The new police building will be two-stories and the total height will be less than 50 ft. The maximum height of any structure to meet the city’s code is 35 ft.
Council approved the number of parking spaces the new facility will have. There will be an additional 44 parking spaces added for the new facility.
“We will need more parking spaces as they become available,” City Manager Michael Ross said.
The city hall and police facility construction is estimated to take between nine months and one year to complete.
