Children’s Museum to Highlight Peaceful Leaders

September 23, 2009

The Children’s Museum of Houston this Sunday will host a day-long event celebrating world leaders like Ghandi, “who dedicated their lives to world peace,” according to a statement.

The Sept. 27 event called Heroes For Peace at 1500 Binz will include exhibits where children can learn who these leaders are, and what they did to advance world peace. Storytelling sessions will tell about the struggles and contributions of leaders who “fought to make a difference in the world.” From 1 to 3 p.m., a theater and dance group will deliver a message of peace.

Heroes For Peace is hosted by the Children’s Museum of Houston and the Ghandi Library. Admission is $7 per person, $6 for seniors and free for children under 1. For information, call (713) 522-1138.
