Children’s Museum Celebrates Earth Day With Free Tree Giveaway

 The Children’s Museum of Houston, 1500 Binz, will hold a week-long Earth Day celebration April 16-22. Provided by the Texas National Forest, museum-goers will have a chance to receive a tree sapling from 5-8 p.m. April 16 during Free Family Night, and all day April 18 and April 19.


Children will also have the chance to meet the Waste Management Green Squad from 5-8 p.m. April 16 and 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. April 16. Crafts include making art out of recycled found objects.


Special exhibits during the week include Earth Day Choices, Earth Day Collage Facts, a Water and Meter Log, Explorations into Energy and Conservation and Where Does Our Garbage Go?





Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Free Family Night every Thursday 5 – 8 p.m. and Sunday, noon – 6 p.m. Admission is $7 per person and $6 for seniors 65+. Children under one and Museum Members receive free admission.  For more information, visit or call 713-522-1138.
