Scott Fordham, president and chief executive officer of Champion Energy Services, announced last week that the company has signed as a lead sponsor for West University Little League.

Among Champion Energy’s commitments, new signage has been placed on the Paul Wallin Field at the league’s baseball complex at University Boulevard and Auden Street. Additional sponsorship signage will be showcased at South Campus fields where Champion Energy has signed on as the grand sponsor for league’s South Campus baseball complex.

The company is also providing practice tee shirts for all players, managers, coaches, green hats and auxiliary members, totaling more than 1,600.

“Champion Energy is honored to serve as a lead sponsor of West U. Little League for the 2010 spring season,” said Fordham in a statement. “Our company is committed to supporting the communities in which we live and serve, and our alignment with West U. Little League is one of the most important community commitments Champion Energy will make this year.”

The league’s seniors team won its age division in the 2009 Senior League World Series, propelling the league into the national spotlight. More than 1,350 players have registered for the 2010 spring season.
