Challenger Football Finished, Looking Forward To Baseball

November 23, 2009

Challenger Football celebrated the completion of another season at Rice University on Nov. 15. The Challengers and Rice Owls teamed up with football players and cheerleaders from Strake Jesuit College Preparatory School.

National Charity League-Heart of Texas chapter members helped with check-in then Boy Scout Troop 125 presented the colors. Sharikki Sam sang the National Anthem as each Challenger and Buddy held their hand over their hearts.

An invocation was given by Strake Jesuit’s Father Bravo and Rice Owls Coach David Bailiff did the coin toss. The game began as umpire and Challenger fan Randy Bullard signaled touchdowns, complete and incomplete passes and more.

Challenger Cheerleaders, assisted by the cheerleaders from Strake Jesuit, shook their pom poms and cheered the players on as they ran up and down the field, carrying the ball, avoiding tackles and blocking the ball carrier as he tried to score.

Registration for Challenger Baseball for spring 2010 is ongoing at www.westull.org.
