Busy Week for West U Police
At 5:14 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the police station in regard to a theft that already occurred. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the victim who stated sometime between September and October and unidentified contractor/suspect took a watch from within the residence without consent.
Burglary Motor Vehicle
At 8:05 p.m., officer was dispatched to 5600 Kirby, at the Azuma Restaurant regarding a burglary of a motor vehicle already occurred. Officer arrived and discovered the vehicle had its driver side rear passenger window shattered. The victim had arrived at the location to eat, at 7:00p.m. The damage was noticed at 7:45 p.m. Entry was made by reaching into the vehicle and removing a black briefcase with other items, from the floorboard of the rear part of the vehicle.
At 10:54 am, an officer observed a vehicle displaying expired registration (04/13) in the 4200 block of Bissonnet. The Officer initiated a traffic stop in the 4300 block of Bissonnet on the vehicle. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the driver was in possession of an illegal drug. The driver was arrested and charged with the offense of Possession of Marijuana.
At 11:04 am, dispatch received a call in the 2700 block of Carolina Way regarding a vehicle that had its driver’s side mirror stolen. Upon the officer’s arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect(s) had removed the driver’s side mirror overnight without the owner’s consent. No suspects were located at this time.
At 5:00 pm, an officer was dispatched to the 4200 Block of Bellaire in reference to a threat that was made by a customer. The officer arrived and met with the complainant who advised that a customer had an argument with staff at the facility and threatened them. The suspect had left the location without incident.
At 10:44 am, an officer was dispatched to the 4100 block of Byron in regards to reported damage at Colonial Park. Upon arrival it was discovered an unknown suspect damaged the tennis court and broke several items. The video footage was reviewed and it was not visible due to the weather. No suspects were located at this time.
At 8:16 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 3300 block of Georgetown for a report of fraud. The officer met with the victim who stated that a subject had used their credit card information to obtain money without their consent.
Dead on Arrival
At 10:24 am, an officer was dispatched to the 4200 block of Villanova in reference to a natural DOA. Upon the officer’s arrival, the reportee stated his mother was in her room and has passed. After further investigation, the victim was reported deceased by the hospice care doctor through the medical examiner’s office.
An officer was dispatched to a residence located in the 2700 block of Arbuckle for a report of a theft. Upon arrival the officer spoke to the reportee who stated that her housekeeper who has been employed with her for approximately 20 years has been taking items from inside her home without the reportee’s consent. The reportee became aware of this when the housekeeper confessed to her of multiple incidents involving the housekeeper taking the reportee’s items.
Burglary of Habitation
Officers were dispatched to the 3700 Block of Tangley to meet with a complainant in reference to a burglary of a habitation that had already occurred. Officers arrived and met with the complainant who advised that an unknown person(s) had forced entry into the residence. The complainant advised that she arrived home and noticed some glass on the floor. A report was generated and filed in reference to this case.
Burglary of motor vehicle
At 6:41 P.M. An officer was dispatched to the 5300 block of Westchester for a report of a burglary of a motor vehicle that already occurred. The Officer, arrived on-scene and met with the victim, who stated that at sometime between 5:00 P.M. and 6:30 P.M. an unknown person(s) broke into their vehicle and items were taken without their effective consent.
