Busy Crime Weekend: DWIs, Hit and Runs and Supposed Home Burglary
At 12:28 pm, an officer was dispatched to 5900 Southwest Freeway to meet with a Bellaire Police Unit that had a driver in custody on West U warrants. The officer met with Bellaire PD and took custody of the subject without incident.
An officer was dispatched to the West U PD in regard to a walk in report of theft. Upon arrival, the victim advised that she had both of her wedding rings stolen from her home. She stated that she left them on the night stand next to her bed, and they went missing after her cleaning ladies cleaned her home. Information was gathered and a report was generated for theft.
Driving while License Suspended
At 7:28 pm, while on routine traffic patrol, an officer observed a vehicle traveling 40 mph in a posted 30 mph zone, southbound in the 6300 block of Buffalo Speedway. A traffic stop was conducted in the 3200 block of Cason. It was discovered the driver had an invalid driver’s license and warrants. The driver was arrested on those charges without incident.
At 12:14 am, an officer was dispatched to Houston PD Central to pick up a subject that had outstanding warrants out of The City of West U, the warrants were confirmed and the subject was transported to the West U jail where he was booked, without incident.
Burglary of Habitation
An officer was dispatched to a residence located in the 3300 block of Robinhood in regards to a burglary of a habitation. Upon arrival the officer spoke to the reportee who stated that an unknown person entered her mother’s residence and made forced entry into an office located inside the residence. The officer also spoke to the housekeeper of the residence who advised that when she entered the residence she observed that one of the window panes to the door that lead to the office was smashed. The officer later spoke to another female subject who also lives at the residence and was at the residence, the female subject advised the officers that she was the person who smashed the window in attempt to retrieve a paper shredder that was located inside the office.
Fail to ID
At 6:36 pm, an officer working stationary traffic enforcement in the 5500 block of Belmont observed a four door passenger vehicle traveling northbound with an expired registration. A traffic stop was conducted in the 5300 block of Belmont and after further investigation the driver was arrested for fail to identify.
At 4:02 pm, an officer was patrolling the 3500 block of Rice, when he observed a vehicle driving westbound in the 3500 block of Rice with an expired inspection. A traffic stop was made and the driver was later arrested for operating a motor vehicle with no driver’s license and having an expired inspection.
Driving while intoxicated
At 10:05 pm, officers were dispatched to the 6500 block of Sewanee in reference to a SUV striking vehicles, driving off, and stopped down the street. Upon officers arrival it was discovered that the driver appeared to be intoxicated. After further investigation, the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Driving while license suspended
An officer observed a car traveling northbound in the 60000 block of Buffalo Speedway traveling 54 mph in a 30 mph speed zone. A traffic stop was conducted in the 5300 block of Buffalo Speedway and after further investigation the driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license.
An officer was dispatched to the 2900 block of Cason in reference to a criminal mischief. The victim stated he had parked his vehicle in good condition at about on 10/14/2012. When he returned to his vehicle at on 10/14/2012, he discovered the rear right bumper and quarter panel had been damaged. At this time it is unknown who may have caused this damage.
Minor Accident/ Failure to stop and give information
An officer was dispatched to the business parking lot located at 5600 Kirby in regards to a minor accident /failure to stop and give information. Upon arrival the officer met with the complainant who stated she parked her vehicle in the parking spot directly in front of the business establishment of Casa Linea and was sitting inside her vehicle on 10/14/2012. The complainant stated that on 10/14/2012, a four door passenger car that was parked next to her attempted to reverse and in the process struck her vehicle. The complainant stated the suspect refused to give her insurance information and immediately left the area.
Driving while intoxicated
At 10:33 am, an officer observed a passenger vehicle traveling northbound in the 6300 block of Buffalo Speedway 52 mph in a posted 30 mph speed zone. A traffic stop was conducted in the 3100 block of Tangley and after further investigation the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
