Busy Crime Day: Police Called to Family Dispute on Pittsburgh
Burglary of a Motor Vehicle
At 9:59 am, an officer was dispatched to the 4200 block of Bellaire to meet a complainant regards to a burglary of a vehicle that had already occurred. The victim stated she found her passenger window had been broken and her purse had been stolen from her vehicle. No suspects were located at this time.
At 2:42 pm, an officer observed a vehicle in the 2900 block of University going over the speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated, after the officer identified the driver, she was found to have two outstanding warrants out of the city of West U. The driver was subsequently arrested for the warrants and was brought before the court clerk and paid her fines in full. The driver was issued a citation for the initial speeding violation and was released from custody.
Domestic / Family Violence
At 6:30 pm, officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of Pittsburg, for a report of a disturbance in progress between a male subject and his parents. Officers made contact with the parties involved, and through investigation, it was discovered that no sustained injuries were acquired as a result of the disturbance. The disturbance was settled at the scene and no charges were filed.
Burglary of a Building
Officers were dispatched to the 3500 block of Corondo Ct in reference to a burglary of a building. Officers arrived and met with the victim who stated that sometime between 8/5/12 and 8/29/12 unknown person(s) entered his unlocked garage storage closet and removed personal items without his effective consent. Officers collected information and completed an offense report.
