Busy Crime Day: Car Break-Ins, Public Intoxication and a Missing Teenager
At 6:00 a.m., an officer was dispatched to Houston Police Central Jail to pick up an individual with 3 West U warrants. The officer arrived and took custody of the individual. The individual was transported to the West U Police Department.
At 5:29 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 3000 block of Tangley in reference to a missing person. The 19 year old male was last seen on 03-04-12 at 11 p.m.
Burglary of a Motor Vehicle
At 11:54 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Pemberton in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers met with the reportee who stated that his daughter observed a white male enter their vehicle. Officers later observed a white male fitting the description on Kirby. The suspect was detained and positively identified by the witness. The suspect was found to have a felony warrant through Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect was transported and booked into the West U Police Department Jail for the burglary and warrant.
Burglary of a Building
Officers were dispatched to a burglary in the 2600 block of Pemberton. An unknown suspect entered the garage and a vehicle and removed several items.
At 12:27 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 6500 block of Westchester for a report of burglary of a motor vehicle in progress. A witness stated that unknown person(s) removed items from a vehicle across the street and fled the scene in a silver Impala. The victim was notified and it was determined that the side mirrors of the vehicle were missing.
At 01:34 a.m., an officer observed an individual stumbling in the 6400 block of Kirby. Upon making contact with the individual, the officer determined that the subject was intoxicated. The individual was unable to stand up or walk straight, and was slurred in speech. The individual was arrested.
At 06:00 a.m., an officer was dispatched to West U PD Lobby in reference to found property. Officers met with the reportee who stated he found a firearm lying on the side of the road and wanted to turn it over to the police. The officer took custody of the firearm.
