Business Globalization Conference Set For Oct. 2

With the theme of “Houston Growing Globally,” the Houston Strategic Conference will take place Oct. 2 at the Houston Marriott Westchase.

The conference focuses on globalization of Houston companies. Organizers point out much of the Houston area’s $400 billion economy is driven by globalization, and anyone doing business in the region is impacted by global influences.

Those attending the conference will be able to gain insights from top business leaders who are successfully executive global strategies across the key industries of technology, transportation, energy, education and health care.

Speakers scheduled to appear include Dr. John Mendelsohn, president of the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center; Clarence P. Cazalot, Jr., president and CEO of Marathon Oil; Renu Khator, chancellor of the University of Houston System; Larry Kellner, chairman and CEO of Continental Airlines and Robert E. Beauchamp, president and CEO of BMC Software.

The conference is hosted by the Houston Strategic Forum. Corporate sponsors include Continental Airlines and Cyrus One.

Five pair of round-trip international tickets from Continental Airlines will be given out throughout the conference.

Registration for Houston Strategic Forum members is $150. The cost for members of supporting organizations is $125 and visitors are $150. Those registering before Aug. 29 will save $50 on the registration.
