August 3 – August 8
Monday, 08/03/2009, at 01:16 am. An officer was dispatched to a residence located in the 6300 block Mercer in reference to a domestic disturbance in progress. Upon officer’s arrival, the complainant informed officers that he and his common law spouse were involved in an argument which turned physical. The husband sustained minor injuries during the altercation. The spouse was arrested for the charge of assault causing bodily injury, family violence.
Possession of controlled substance
On 08/04/2009, at approximately 8:25 pm an officer observed a suspicious vehicle in the 6400 block of Rutgers. Upon further investigation, a male and female were found to be in possession of numerous controlled substances. The suspects were arrested for the offenses.
On 07/05/09, at approximately 7:27 am, an officer was dispatched to the 3800 block of Sunset in reference to a criminal mischief that already occurred. An unknown person intentionally and knowingly damaged two windows with an unknown object causing pecuniary loss to the owner. The officer gave the victim a copy of the report number pertaining to the case.
P.O.M./ P.C.S./ Retaliation/ Unlawful labeling
On 8/5/2009 at about 9:24 pm, an officer observed a white vehicle fail to signal a turn in the 6300 block of Rutgers. A traffic stop was conducted in the 6300 block of Buffalo Speedway and the driver was found to be in possession of unauthorized dvd movies. The passenger was found to be in possession of prescription drugs and marijuana. During the incident, a police vehicle was damaged by the driver. Both occupants were arrested for the offenses.
On 08/06/2009, at approximately 12:21 p.m., an officer was flagged down by a metro bus that was traveling east bound in the 3700 block of Bissonnet. The officer and the bus came to a complete stop in the 3500 block of Bissonnet where the officer was informed that there was a belligerent black male inside the bus wanting to fight the passengers. The officer made contact with the suspect and was able to have him exit the bus with no further altercation. The officer further observed that the suspect had dilated pupils, red glassy eyes, and the subject speech was slurred.
On 08/06/09 at approximately 3:23 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle traveling north bound in the 5700 block of Wakeforest with a defective brake light (did not display a light when vehicle stopped). A registration return also revealed that the vehicle was uninsured. A traffic stop was conducted in the 2800 block of Wroxton and officers later discovered that the driver’s license for the driver of the vehicle was suspended. The driver also had two outstanding traffic warrants. The driver was subsequently arrested for driving with a suspended driver’s license, fail to maintain financial responsibility, and the two outstanding traffic warrants.
Traffic Violations and H.P.D. Warrants
On 08/07/09 at approximately 11:30 am, an officer observed a vehicle being operated with an expired
inspection sticker and expired registration sticker. A traffic stop was conducted in the 6300 block of Brompton, where it was discovered that the driver had multiple warrants from outside agencies. The driver was arrested for warrants, and traffic violations.
D.W.L.I. and H.P.D. Warrants
On 08-07-09 at approximately 4:16 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle traveling east bound in the 2600
block of Rice Avenue with an expired inspection sticker and a defective brake light (did not display a light when vehicle stopped). A registration return revealed that the vehicle was uninsured. a traffic stop was conducted and later discovered that the driver’s license for the driver of the vehicle was suspended. The driver also had fourteen warrants out of the houston police department. The driver was arrested for driving with a suspended driver’s license and the outstanding traffic warrants.
On 8/8/2009 at approximately 2:19 am, an officer observed a vehicle in the 6300 block of Buffalo Speedway traveling at a speed greater than that which is posted. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle and conducted in the 3000 block of Pittsburgh. The driver of the vehicle was found to be a minor, under the age of 21, driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested for the offense.
