3936 Marlowe Property To be Discussed In Closed Session Tonight
West U. City Council will meet in closed executive session prior to their regular council session tonight to discuss the 3936 Marlowe St. property. The lot was declared surplus property in June. The city bought the property from the owners for $400,000 after a three-year legal battle concerning the design of the home under construction. The unfinished home has since been torn down.
The regular session will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, 3800 University Blvd. Council will hear and possibly approve the second and final reading of an ordinance allowing for driveway stubs on homes along Buffalo Speedway, an ordinance aimed to address problems with residents backing out into heavy traffic.
Council will also hear an update on the recreational facilities, a gas line break that occurred on Bellaire Boulevard the week of April 13, a report on issues related to the city’s police facilities and a report by Mayor Bob Kelly on a meeting with CenterPoint concerning the feasibility of underground electrical lines in the city.
