Driving With a Fake Tag
An officer observed a vehicle traveling westbound no visible registration in the 4200 block of Bissonnet. The officer initiated a traffic stop and upon further investigation discovered that the operator was in possession of an altered temporary buyers tag and driving on a suspended driver’s license. The operator was arrested and charged with fictitious/altered vehicle registration, driving on a suspended driver’s license, and a felony warrant.

Driving While License Suspended
At 11:08 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 2500 block of Robinhood. Upon checking the driver’s license of the operator of the vehicle, it was discovered that the license was suspended. The driver/ operator was subsequently arrested for driving while license invalid.

Panhandler Arrested
At 12:09am officers were dispatched to the 6700 block of Stella Link for a report of a suspicious person observed panhandling by a Southside police officer. The subjects were found in the 6400 block of College walking in the middle of the street. The subjects were identified and one was arrested for two active arrest warrants and possession of a controlled substance. The other subject was arrested for walking in the roadway where sidewalk provided. A vehicle belonging to the subjects was discovered blocking the roadway in the 3800 block of Riley. The vehicle was towed for safe keeping.

Driving While License Suspended
At 8:47 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 6400 block of Buffalo Speedway. Upon checking the driver’s license status of the individual who was driving, it was discovered that the license was suspended. The driver of the vehicle was subsequently arrested for driving while license invalid.

Purse Theft
At 11:19 am, a police officer was dispatched to the 4100 block of Bellaire in reference to a theft, which had already occurred. The victim stated an unknown person(s) stole her purse that was on her work desk, which contained several items. Information was gathered and a report was generated.

Fraud
West University Police documented a Fraud incident where the victim learned his personal information was compromised after the victim received a letter in the mail from Verizon wireless stating he owed back funds on an account he did not activate.
