Drunk Driver Causes Accident
At 1:14 pm, an officer was dispatched to a major accident located at the 6700 block of Buffalo Speedway. Upon investigation, it was determined the driver of unit one was at fault and was under the influence of an unknown substance. The driver was subsequently arrested for Public Intoxication.
Fake Inspection Sticker
At 10:10 am, an officer observed a vehicle traveling eastbound with a defective brake light in the 4100 block of Bissonnet. The officer initiated a traffic stop and upon further investigation discovered that the operator was in possession of a fake motor vehicle inspection sticker. The operator was arrested and charged with Fictitious/Altered MVI Sticker.
No Diver’s Licence
At 2:07 pm, an officer observed a vehicle in the 4200 block of Bissonnet traveling west bound with expired motor vehicle inspection. The officer initiated a traffic stop in the 4300 block of Bissonnet on the vehicle. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the driver did not have a driver’s license. The driver was arrested for the offense of Driving without a Driver’s License and for Expired MVI.
Attempted Auto Theft
At 9:41 pm, an officer was dispatched to the 2600 block of Pemberton in regard to a report of a Burglary of a Motor Vehicle. The vehicle had no signs of forced entry, however the steering column of the vehicle had been severely damaged.
Unpaid Traffic Tickets
At 11:49 am, a police officer observed a vehicle traveling northbound in the 5700 block of Buffalo Speedway at the speed of 47 miles per hour in a 30 miles per hour zone. The police officer conducted a traffic stop and after further investigation it was discovered the driver had two outstanding warrants with The City of West University place police department.
At 1:49 pm, an officer was dispatched to the 4200 block of Oberlin in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle that had already occurred. Upon the officer’s arrival, the victim stated an unknown person(s) had shattered the front passenger side window of his vehicle by an unknown object, rummaged throughout the center console and glove compartment but did not remove anything. The victim also stated he left a bank 40 minutes prior and was possibly targeted for the cash he withdrew.
