West University Softball Association has announced the opening of fall softball season.
Fall Ball provides a relaxed environment for the development of girls who are new to the game, those who are moving up an age division and want to learn the special skills for that division (such as transitioning to girl pitch), and those who simply want to keep up their skills for the upcoming spring and summer seasons.
In addition to Sunday afternoon games, Fall Ball will include one evening practice per week, a skills clinic to begin the season and weekly pitcher and catcher clinics held at BreakAway Speed for both new and experienced pitchers and catchers who want to sharpen their skills; all clinics are supervised by experienced BreakAway Speed pitching and softball coaches. The cost of these clinics is covered by the league, and the clinics are open to any registered Fall Ball player.
Fall player registration is available online at wusa.org and will close on Sept. 3. Players are encouraged to register early. Practices will begin on Sept. 11. Games will be played Sunday afternoons from Sept.15 to Nov. 17.
Fall Ball is for girls ages 6-14. All girls who register will be placed on a team. There is no tryout to participate.
WUSA began in 1979 and has grown to involve more than 500 girls from ages 4 to 15. WUSA is an all volunteer Association including a board of directors and woman’s auxiliary.
