Crime Report: Suspicious Person Arrested for Walking in the Road

Identity Theft

At 11:45 am, an officer was dispatched to the 3800 University in regards to a fraud. The victim advised an unknown person attempted to open a cell phone account using her personal information. It is unknown at this time where the account was opened. A report was generated for identity theft and is under investigation.

Forgery

At 1:12 pm, a police officer was dispatched to the 4000 block of Bellaire in reference to a forgery, which had just occurred. Business employees stated the suspect attempted to cash a forged check. The suspect was unable to cash the check and left the business.

An officer was dispatched to the 6700 block of Stella Link in reference to a forgery that was in progress. Upon arrival officers met with the branch manager who stated there was someone trying to cash a fraudulent check. Officer located the suspect inside the establishment, the suspect was charged with felony forgery.

Theft

At 1:48 pm, an officer was dispatched to the 3800 block of University in regards to missing jewelry. She advised the last time she saw the item was in February 2013 and now needed a report for an insurance claim.

Minor Accident

At 5:04 pm, an officer was dispatched to the 4000 block of Bellaire, in reference to a motor vehicle accident where the driver which was at fault did not leave their information for a report, before leaving the accident location.

Burglary of motor vehicle

At 11:44am, an officer was dispatched to 6700 block of Academy in reference to burglary of motor vehicles that occurred sometime during the night time hours. Upon the officer’s arrival he made contact with the reportee who stated an unknown person(s) forced entry into six company vehicles. He also stated at this time it is unknown what was taken.

Disorderly conduct

At 10:33 pm, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop in the 2600 block of Bissonnet for a person urinating in public. The subject was issued a citation and released to a responsible party.

Public intoxication

At 2:09 a.m. an officer was dispatched to the 2600 block of Sunset for a report of an unknown subject lying on the ground in front of a residence. The officer arrived on-scene located the subject who was passed out in the front yard of an unknown residence. The subject was arrested and booked into jail, charged with public intoxication.

Burglary of motor vehicle

At 12:43 pm, a police officer was dispatched to 3800 University in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle, which had already occurred. The victim stated an unknown person(s), without his consent entered his unlocked vehicle and stole several items.

Burglary of motor vehicle

At 2:52 pm, an officer was dispatched to the 3700 block of Tangley in regard to a burglary of a motor vehicle that had already occurred. Upon arriving, the victim’s informed the officer that two of the vehicles in the driveway were left unsecured and rummaged through. A report for burglary of a motor vehicle was generated and no suspects were found at this time.

Burglary of motor vehicle

At 4:24pm, an officer was dispatched to the 3700 block of Rice to meet with a subject who was a victim of a burglary of motor vehicle. Upon arrival the officer met with the victim who stated he had his vehicle parked in the 3700 block of Tangley, when and unknown person entered his unsecure vehicle and took his personal property without his consent.

Burglary of motor vehicle

An officer was dispatched to the 5800 block of Buffalo Speedway in reference to a lapsed Burglary of a Motor Vehicle. Sometime between 9:30am on 07/14/13 and 7:10pm on 07/15/13, an unknown suspect entered into an unsecured vehicle and removed personal items belonging to the victim.

Traffic violations

At 8:46am, an officer observed a vehicle traveling southbound with a defective trailer brake light in the 5500 block of College. The Officer initiated a traffic stop in the 5500 Block of College on the vehicle. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the driver was in violation of restrictions. The driver was arrested and charged with the offense on the violation of occupational driver’s license restrictions.

Possession of narcotics

An officer was patrolling the 2700 block of Plumb and observed a vehicle parked on the side of the road with only brake lights on. The officer stopped to check the welfare of the driver and determined that she was in possession of marijuana. The driver was arrested, booked into the West University Place Police Department jail, and charged with a Class B Misdemeanor of Possession of Marijuana.

Fail to ID

An officer observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of Weslayan and Case. When the officer turned around on the vehicle it fled the area in an unknown direction. Additional officers were called to the area to attempt to locate the vehicle. The Driver provided a false date of birth, the Driver was charged with Fail to ID. The passenger had no ID on his person. A check of the vehicle revealed several items that appeared to have been stolen. The passenger was transported to the station for fingerprint identification and an investigation hold for Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.

Possession of narcotics

At 8:00 am, an officer observed a vehicle traveling 44 mph in a posted 35 mph speed zone in the 4200 block of Bissonnet. A traffic stop was conducted in the 3900 block of Northwestern and after further investigation the driver was arrested for the offenses of possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

Traffic Violations

An officer was dispatched to the 3600 block of Sunset in reference to a suspicious person. The suspicious person was located in the 5300 block of Sewanee and was arrested for Walking in Roadway Where Sidewalk Provided.

Public intoxication

Officers were dispatched to a business in the 2600 block of Bissonnet regarding an off-duty deputy that had a suspect detained for public intoxication. Officers were unable to locate a responsible party that had not consumed any alcohol to take custody of the suspect. The suspect was arrested for Public Intoxication and booked into the West University Place jail.

Warrant

At 4:30 a.m. an officer was dispatch to the Harris County Jail to meet with another police agency, which had one subject in their custody for The City of West University Place warrants. The officer arrived on-scene met with Harris County personal and verified active arrest warrants. The subject was taken into custody and transported to The City of West University place jail and booked on the warrants.
