Parkinson’s disease is not something to confront on your own.
“It’s scary, the first time you hear that word – Parkinson’s,” said Vernell Ireland, vice president of Parkinson Foundationof Harris County, which conducts meetings in West University Place.
“It’s just a horrible disease,” group president Roslyn Waechter said of the debilitating neurological disorder made familiar to many by actor Michael J. Fox’s battle against it. “It compromises every muscle in your body. Every single muscle.”
