Crime Report: Driver Admits to Having Baggie of Marijuana

Possession of Narcotics

At 9:00 am an officer, observed a vehicle in the 6200 block of Buffalo Speedway traveling northbound with an expired inspection sticker (08/12). A traffic stop was initiated in the 3200 block of Bissonnet. Upon contact with the driver the officer detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to having a bag of marijuana in his vehicle. The officer located a clear baggie behind the driver seat containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana. Subsequently the driver was arrested for possession of marijuana.


Burglary of motor vehicle

An officer was dispatched to the 5400 block of Kirby in regards to a burglarized vehicle. The victim of the burglarized vehicle stated an unknown person(s) entered the vehicle without effective consent.


Minor Accident/Failure to Stop and Give Information

An officer was dispatched to the WUPD in regards to a minor accident (Failure to Stop and Give Information). The victim stated his vehicle was struck while legally parked on the roadway in the 6500 block of Belmont.
