West University Softball Association, one of the state’s largest girls youth softball associations, announces the opening of the fall softball season.
Fall Ball is WUSA’s “off season” program. It is less structured than the spring season, and standings are not kept. Teams practice only once per week, and there is no tryout to participate. All girls who register will be placed on a team. The focus is on fun.
WUSA now has a 14U Fall Ball division, as well as a new machine pitch-only division especially for 8-9 year olds. WUSA Fall Ball now has something for all girls ages 6-14.
Fall player registration is available online at wusa.org and will close on Sept. 4. Players are encouraged to register early. Practices will begin on Sept. 9, 2012. Games will be played Sunday afternoons from Sept. 16 to Nov. 11.
WUSA began in 1979 and has grown to involve more than 500 girls from ages 5 to 14. WUSA is an all volunteer Association including a board of directors and woman’s auxiliary.
